The Department of Dermato - Venereology & Leprosy has its roots in the Dermatology wing of Govt.Pentland Hospital. when the old hospital was converted into medical college, the department started to function under the able guidance of Dr.V.G.KOTHANDAPANI MD,DD and Dr.C.DHARMAMBAL who continued their services from GPH to newly started Govt.Vellore Medical College Various eminent Dermatologist then took the Dept to new heights including Dr.MANOHARAN,MD,DD, Dr.S.THIRUNAVUKARASU, MD.DD, Dr.DHANALAKSHMI MD, Dr.ANANDAN MD,DNB.|
The Department has separate OP Room for Dermatology, STD, and Leprosy. It has full fledged STD lab and Dermato Surgery Procedure Room. VCTC and PPTCT Centers with excellent counseling facilities and audio – visual aids and well trained Counsellors and technicians are available.

Final Year MBBS Students - 10 Days
Lecture Classes were taken and case demonstrations were done for the students during clinical postings. Students were made to present cases during this period.
